Shock and awe. We never thought we feel that for a much-teased-about town in the far reaches of northern United States: Fargo is awesome. I mean, we have spent a few days in North Dakota, and for the most part North Dakota has been exactly as we expected: quiet, flat, nice, a bit boring (in a nice way). But Fargo? It’s so…cute! So many cute storefronts and bars and their movie theater is amazing! It really surprised us. We might start weekending here. We might move here? Jk, it wouldn’t go that far. But this is my very first time ever in North Dakota, and frankly I’m glad it took me this long. I couldn’t've appreciated it as much before as I do now after our long trip.

Now I totally feel bad about what I’ve historically said about Fargo – when non-Minnesotans have heard I’m from Minnesota in the past, they’ve said “Oh yeah, you betchya, go Fargo.” As if Fargo is in Minnesota! And I tell them something like how Minnesota isn’t Fargo and Fargo is a no-man’s land where people do act exactly as they do in that movie. For reals, sorry Fargo. You didn’t deserve it.

yay fargo! as ND is the land of my roots and i have a very strong crush on it (even though there are no restaurants open on sundays and the state capital is the size of harrisonburg va), i am VERY HAPPY that you found and loved fargo! ok i’ve never been there. but i’m definitely going on my next trip to the prairie.
